The downside is the exterior is aluminum which is prone to damage from hail. Not anything that makes it unusable, just dinged.
I have also had one piece hard tonneau covers which are the highest security but the most difficult with large loads or impossible if you plan to load a motorbike.
The best hard cover for the outdoorsman is a diamondback. You can load your atv or snowmobile on top of it.
I personally never liked the vinyl roll up style. Had one 20 years ago.
The aluminum roll up style is probably second to the hard folding but you end up with a big roll in the front when rolled up that gets in the way when loading big things or motorcycles.
Retrax, BAK, Truxedo and Extang are probably the other larger makers. There are smaller market players like ARE, American and Gator as well.
If you have a tool box or things you use your bed for you will find that those things will narrow down significantly which models will work for your truck.
I recommend sitting down with someone who sells them and figure out which one will work best for you.
