Impact marks on breech face

I recently noticed impact marks on the breech face, and it appears to be from the bolt. I had a stoppage during my last shooting session. The round failed to fire, and failed to eject. I cycled the bcg several times in an attempt to eject the round. I'm honestly not sure what the issue was with the round, but I did eventually get it out. I fired roughly 20-25 rounds afterwards with no issue.

After getting home and cleaning the rifle, I noticed impact marks from the bolt on the breech face, and what appears to be some scratches on the chamfer area around the chamber (I assume it is damage from the stuck round). What I'm not sure about is how the bolt marks got on the breech face. Is this cause for concern? It seems to cycle and function. I would venture to say it functions flawlessly if it weren't for the stuck case. It has never malfunctioned before thru almost 1,000 rounds (knock on wood).

Also, bolt looks to be just fine.

Anyhow, any advice?

How wet do you run your bolt?

I would tend to agree, except I clean my guns meticulously, some would say to a fault. The scratch on the chamfer going into the chamber is without a doubt from the stuck round. But the impact marks on the breech face are confusing to me. The bolt has to be impacting the face.

My bolt is never super wet. I only lube the gas rings and carrier lands. I only shoot a few hundred rounds and then clean it and re-oil.

Bolt/carrier manufacture?
Factory rifle or build?
Ammo used?
Did you hang on to the case that was stuck?

I would check headspace for sure. If the chamber is a bit deep it could cause the bolt to impact the barrel extension. Hard to tell from your pic of the breech but it appears that the bolt has contacted the face more than once. If that is the case a mechanical issue would be my first guess. If it only appears to have contacted once I would hold the ammo suspect.

It a build using Ballistic Advantage barrel, bolt is Sharps reliabolt, carrier is a RCA low mass, ammo is/was hand-loaded (23g H335 w/55gr boolit, CCI 400). The round that was stuck never fired, and I had difficulties extracting it. I cycled it several times trying to get the extractor to hang on. Once I got the round out, the primer was damaged, telling me that it was at least striking the primer. I still do not know why the round was stuck, but subsequent firings showed no additional issues. Even with a stuck round though, it does not explain why the bolt is now impacting the breech face. In previous cleanings, I have not noticed this damage. My only assumption is the bolt was contacting the breech face on the 4 or 5 attempts i made cycling the BCG in efforts to extract the stuck round.

I guess my second question should be, is this ok to leave as is or do I need to fix/replace parts?
