    Default Airgun Hunting

Anyone here hunt with airguns? Or does anyone have any pigeons, starlings, other such varmints to get rid of. Just got a new pellet gun finally after selling my last one and this whole stay at home thing is killing me. I want to get something lined up. If you're bored and have money and a place to shoot some eurasian doves or like i said pigeons and starlings buy a gun and let's do this.... of course once we get off lockdown. Or if you have a gun already and want someone to join you im down.

I have a .22 air rifle I had planned on hunting with. It is just as loud as a .22 lr, so now I just use the .22 lr. It is very accurate, I dont recall the brand right now. Hitting the 6x6" 50 yard gong is not difficult. I have noticed several collared dove hanging around lately. I may need a fresh dinner soon.

I wish I could post pictures.. shot placement does not seem to be a problem.. and its a .25 cal. Im loving it... did i mention its much cheaper to shoot :-) my last gun was 22 and i wanted something bigger. This pellet thing is kind of addicting! I think im going to get a camera mouted to the scope next. I already have way too much money into this thing... whats a little more.

I tried slipping one by the local state park/wildlife area. They have a shotgun/archery only area to hunt behind the lake. Shotgun is size 4 and smallet shot only. I asked if I could airgun hunt back there. The local game warden called them while I was there, and it took then a few minutes to answer. It was a friend I went to high school with, and he said this sounded like a "Jody" question. The warden laughed and said yes it was me. "Knowing him, he will go buy a .50 caliber air rifle to hunt deer and elk back there." They said no, no air rifles. The warden laughed as well, because that was what we had talked about before the call was made.

Hmm I know one of those places thats shotgun/archery only. I figured air guns would be a go there.. but yeah probably not for big game.

Colorider have you ever just gone out with your pellet gun, i have to think if i was respectful and didnt look like a goover I could get some permission to shoot some stuff. Heck i would even start on rats for them. Used to have a blast shooting rats.

I've been thinking about going to a dairy farm or a feed lot to see if they would let me shoot rats and other vermin. A lot of airgunners do that in other states and have a heck of a time. Maybe we should do a little research and see if there are such places nearby that we could contact and see?
