Take a bullet proof vest and be sure your will is updated. Horrible range.

Probably safer to be a stray dog in an ATF shoot house than set foot on the line at Dragonman's.

Lead Valley is still open... BUT you have to be a member or guest to use the rifle/pistol ranges. You have to attend orientation after you join before you can shoot. Orientations are the first Sunday of every month (this Sunday)...but I would call and talk to Glenn first if I were you.

Only go to dragonmans if you can get the instructor range. I would go to Magnum if you head down to COS, they have a great facility and its less of a drive for those coming from the North.

I went to Dragonmans with my kids to take the museum tour years ago. People rent guns in the shop and have to walk to the range from there to shoot them. 2 guys who had clearly never held guns before walked out of the store, one guy with a glock with a magazine inserted sweeping a family outside with his finger 3" into the trigger guard. The other guy carrying an AR at waist level, finger on trigger, sweeping everything he was facing, again with this family out front. They both had scared, excited looks on their faces like "holy shit I have no clue what to do with this thing, I can't believe they let me rent this!".
Almost as scary was that zero other people around noticed or cared.
The museum was a very cool but weird monument to one guy's ego. I can't imagine going back for anything though.

did Dragonman's today, I was on the near end for 100 yard rifle, far end had some pistol shooters in the 25 yard berm. I survived...…. but with only 5 people on the range, I lucked out.

I wouldn't do it if the range was crowded, but cheated death again.

After you have had guns pointed at you by the staff there, I guess you stop noticing. The attitude towards safety is clearly not high on their priority list.

Plus it?s such a regular occurrence there.
