Default Anybody having quality issues with 22lr purchased a year plus ago?

We shoot varmint control as well as putting animals down when needed and there are a few of us that all have been having issues with 22lr purchased withing the last 2 years but not since the current panic buying. Multiple brands of ammo are having issues as well.
They are short charged.... across the board but inconsistent.
When shooting at 100 yards you will have 3 rounds pretty close and then one fall short.... like 6 feet low at 100 yards.
I've seen rounds not even make it out to 50 yards.
I've seen this with Remington, Winchester and Federal. These are not cheap bulk packs. These are supposedly quality HP rounds.
I have actually had better luck with the bulk ammo like the Remington Bucket and Winchester XXX boxes.

Are we the only ones having issues or are others having issues as well?
I say lets all remove the warning labels and let nature take its course.

Moisture or other storage problem? I have trouble believing that multiple brands are having similar issues.

I have bought alot of 22 plinking ammo the last 4-5 years. Only thing I have noticed is that most brands vary widely in consistency from year to year.

Well, not everyone is a top-shelf rimfire snob. Some of us shclubs use whatever is cheapest/easiest to find.

I wish I shot way more than I'm able, but CCI has historically been very consistent for me.

I think historically any rimfire ammunition is subject to inconsistency. Just the nature of the beast and has been since at least back to when I was a kid in the 70?s.

Haha, I only recently became a 22lr ammo snob. Until I got into precision rimfire, I refused to pay more than .04/rd. I still only shoot the expensive stuff(have become Eley fan boi) in my precision bolt gun. The minions have to live with cheapo for practice and blasting.

CCI was my "good stuff" until couple years ago. Was always accurate and consistent. Bought 10 bricks and put it in the minions stash. When they started shooting it they immediately started complaining about it.

After a couple sessions of minions whining about the CCI not being accurate I checked for myself and was very surprised. Fired 100 rds from each brick and the brick the minions started with was junk, 40% flyers and many duds/FTF.

Retailer replaced it and new brick performed ok.

Had similar experience with a bulk box of Federal Automatch.

As OP stated Winchester X and M22 has been pretty consistent for price.

I blame Hoser and TimK for becoming a 22 ammo snob. That and I have grown to like multiple rounds thru the same hole.

Digging through the ammo stash the other day, I found a brick of the old Wolf Match Target (made in Germany). That probably goes back to pre-Obama, and I can't wait to try some out!

I have noticed a declined in quality in 22lr in the past few years. Was always a federal bulk pack guy, the last 10 550rd bulk packs and auto match have been garbage and won't cycle the action on any of my 22 handguns. I have been buying the 500rd bricks of blazer and they have been very consistent.
    Don't be stupid!!!!!
