Default Need an Engineer or Architect

Hey all- I am need of some engineering assistance. I need to replace the deck on the front of my house and while the majority of it is atypical framing I do have a couple of areas that are requiring some clarification. I have contacted the city building division and to be quite honest, the Inspector was very much less than helpful(downright miserable to be honest).
I need to address Ledger board placement and fastening and also a workaround for an existing concrete stoop. I know I have solutions to the issues but unfortunately they need to be "Engineer Approved". If I draw it up and take it to the city I know I will end up going round and round with approvals/rejections/approval fees etc and during this Corona mess that would take all summer.
I would just as soon pay an Engineer a few bucks to be able to submit "Engineer Approved" plans to the city.
    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    GTFO of the city.

I know it no help now but it will solve most bureaucratic BS in the future.

Maybe hit up deck dept at box store or deck company?

Last engineer stamped stuff I wanted done, I provided drawings, specs and data, he wanted $500 to approve. Since it was for my own edification, not for permits or other approval I double checked my data and calculations and got after it. These were relatively small changes to two footers and the columns that sat on them for a house he had already done foundation and truss engineering at full price and too long a wait.

Yeah unfortunately the GTFO option is not feasible at the time. Besides, I'd have to replace the deck if I put it on the market anyway.

Are you repairing the existing deck without major changes? Cause that's just maintenance.

Edit, if you want to spitball it with a framer. I can stop by.

Also. Narrow your search to structural engineers, architects are usually useless when it comes to load calls. I wouldn't use the se in loveland, had a bad experience that almost went to court. The guy in evans I used was marginal, all in all it worked out because I fixed his major fuck ups with as built changes and he was cool with it but he did some ridiculous stuff
