Default Police question on side mirror for Jeep.

    Hello. ,
Could any of you guys tell me what law it would be for a jeep that takes its doors off would need to have side mirrors?
SomeGuys are saying in Colorado you do not need to have side mirrors only rear view. Could anyone confirm this for me?

You just need one mirror with an unobstructed view 200' behind you, can be side or rear view.

    42-4-226. Mirrors - exterior placements
    (1) Every motor vehicle shall be equipped with a mirror or mirrors so located and so constructed as to reflect to the driver a free and unobstructed view of the highway for a distance of at least two hundred feet to the rear of such vehicle.

Pretty sure just the inside mirror is fine.

    Obviously, this isn?t legal advice.

Thought if a vehicle was produced with mirrors it needed to have them.
I’m sure in other states it’s required just not Colorado.
    Thanks.

I'd get something like Brian posted because even if you are within the law, don't expect every police office to know what the law is.

Oh I'd definitely take the risk myself, but if he's concerned about getting a ticket, he should go above and beyond.

If you want to make sure it's a non-issue, there are kits on the market to relocate your mirrors from the door to the fender. One example here:
