Default GMC Yukon Chrome Trim Stained

All of the chrome trim on my 2016 Yukon Denali has a brownish stain.
It is heaviest on the grill, but is present on the side and rear chrome trim also.
I thought maybe it was bugs since I drive to Oklahoma, Georgia, and Florida a couple of times a year.
I posted on the Tahoe Yukon Forum and got mixed responses.
A few of the forum members thought it might be because of Colorado using mag chloride
Any recommendations how and if I can clean it up, or will I have to replace it?
    Thanks

small rock chips allowed mag chloride to get under the chrome... time for new trim. Your insurance might cover. It is road damage.
I say lets all remove the warning labels and let nature take its course.

Does it come off with some metal polish and a little elbow grease?

Try some “NEVR DULL” polishing wadding. But most likely as Co.Os. Said the mag Chloride got under the plating on the plastic.

I had this happen on my 2006 Chevy Silverado.
The magnesium chloride stained the metal bumper and the plastic chrome trim on the grille.
I never found anything that would clean it up.
Even the metal bumper took stainless steel wool to have any effect.
Being Colorado the issue took care of itself when I had to replace the front due to body damage!
I learned to get that sticky ice melt chemical off the truck fast.
