    Default Ruger American Stock Question

I recently purchased a Ruger American Go Wild 6.5CM; I got this because I wanted a light weight hunting rifle that I could pack around in the back country. The trigger was awful, but I got that mostly fixed with a new spring and some adjusting. Anyhow, I thought I would like the AI mag setup, but it turns out that I don't. It's in the way. Given the magwell insert, I thought I could swap out the insert for the flush fit one. I see that there are three different options for the modular stock in the Ruger diagram. I've searched for awhile and I don't see any options for getting the flush fit magwell insert. Has anybody worked through this issue and know how to get one?

I have the same rifle, but it hasn’t even been out to the range yet. What don’t you like about the factory magazine?

The AI magazine and the modular insert have a lot of slop so the magazine moves around way too much. If you snag onto the magazine, the front if it will pull pretty far out of the magwell. This is a trail gun so I will be moving a lot with it slug; the AI mag catch lever protrudes past the trigger guard and doesn't feel that great jabbing into my back. In several shooting positions, the magazine is just in the way, and I would prefer the flush fit. I went into this thinking I wanted the AI mag so I'm pretty surprised that I don't like it. I can make it work, but I would prefer the flush fit. I'll probably just watch ebay; somebody will eventually sell the stock I want

Oh, definitely get this spring; best $10 bucks you could spend on this rifle. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ruger-Ameri...-/302621127357

Have you removed the AI lever yet to remove the receiver screws; it is a wonderful piece of engineering...lol

If you haven't pulled the stock to adjust the trigger yet, PM me, I can save you a lot of time and headaches figuring it out.

I believe this is the one you want, Model:26965 556 10rd pmag. Somebody like Ark should be able to order your brother one.

He wants the flush mag version, not the PMag. Seems only the PMag version is available most places.
