I'm experimenting with cheaper, decent time storage meats that I can use in backpacking meals. I've experimented with pork floss and it works ok but want to try out summer sausage for things like chili. However, in order to make it worthwhile on the trail I would need 6 oz or less. I know you can get 16 oz cheap but having a hard time finding 6oz and under locally or at a reasonable price. Anyone got knowledge of something like that? 1 or 2oz would even be more ideal.
