Had a pipe leak in my ceiling. Got it fixed but I dont want to patch and replace drywall. Any recommendation on who could perform this work?

Subscribed from Littleton. I need texturing also. In my experience, it's hard to get experienced drywallers to take on small jobs.

I just got roped into helping brother in law hang drywall in his sister's bathroom project. The guy she hired disappeared.

I'm sure he disappeared because competenace isn't required right now to do that.

I hear that in every town I ever visit. It's true in most industry I come across. Everyone wants to do entire projects and hardly anyone does repairs. Part of the reason is because if something is repaired, then something else goes wrong in the future, even if it had nothing to do with the repair, the homeowner/business is likely to remember the last person to work on the place.

I have NEVER written an estimate to repair a deck without getting a counter estimate to do a complete tear out and rebuild, and it's always at least $20k. No one wants to repair a deck, especially a two story.

Wish I had a contact to send everyone's way for drywall.

Well. Most drywall guys are charging $100+ per taped/textured sheet and getting it. A decent 3 guy crew can make thousands in a day on a new build. Its cutting their own throat taking small jobs

That's exactly what I found when I tried to hire my drywall work out. I've finally reached a point where I can objectively afford to hire a few things out here and there and now I'm so appalled by the pricing that I end up continuing to do things myself! On the positive note, my drywall skills are improving with each sheet I hang!

Hang a mirror on your ceiling. Even I can do that.
