    Default Buffer Tube Spring Boing

Hey guys...so I have 2 CMMG ARs in Fiveseven. One has the shorter barrel and the other a little longer barrel. The shorter one has little to no spring boing when you shoot and the longer one has a decided spring boing as you shoot.

Should this be happening? What causes it? How do you stop it?

I don't have a technical answer, but I had a 5.56 AR with a spring like that. Bought a new spring... problem gone.

I would think that the buffer tube, buffer, brace, and spring would all be identical as they are the exact same gun but in different barrel lengths.

Spray on lithium grease, quiets it right out. Spray down the buffer spring with it (not dripping, just coated). Expect the excess to travel up the BCG, not far and easily wiped off.

Spring boing doesn't mean anything. It'll go away after awhile.

If you really don't like it, get a JP captured spring system.

If there's nothing wrong with having to show an ID to buy a gun, there's nothing wrong with having to show an ID to vote.

For legal reasons, that's a joke.

Put a little grease inside your buffer tube. Fixed.

OR the Armaspec unit. The SRS-H2 i have works well, especially on my suppressed SBR.

I'm the odd one out I love the spring noise. It was the one thing that stood out to me as a little kid the first time I shot a ar15.

didn't they ban that noise in CA?
As it "may cause cancer" . Or was that diminished hearing?

BTW: thanks for the info . My cousin is picking up a few kegs of powder for me .
