Always use steel surplus mags, DSA mags nor any other repro mags don?t work worth a shit.
Copy that on the mags, I have some of the DSA polymer ones and they are not good.

I have built and owned more than a few, I cut my teeth on the FALFILES when it was a good forum.
$150.00 pristine part sets, $125.00 receivers.......those days are long gone.
That being said I prefer the G3 platform for a MBR platform, straightline recoil impulse, CHEEP magazines, no gas system to fiddle with and it doesn't care what ammo you feed it, it will go bang and with better accuracy than a FAL.
I have yet to see a FAL that will do any better than 1 MOA consistently.
Ah yes, buying from FAC, or the brothers who would later become DSA. Of course we remember when jerry started the 7.62x25 fn project, off one of those Al receivers. The falfiles, when it was a bb

While i was getting the shop ready for the EVERYTHING MUST GO sale before moving. I found a box of small parts, some fn and ak stuff. There was a receipt mixed in with everything.

It was originally a BOS for jerry, iirc, dated early - mid 90's . That was in there when he sold me some things, way back when.
