I have "relocated" quite a few with a Havahart trap and a chicken leg wired tight, just a bit from the top, so they don't walk off with the leg without tripping the trap.

I have one of the Havahart traps if need.

    So the battle begins.

We have at least three raccoons frequenting my backyard at night and between them digging in my lawn and doing their business in my landscaping it?s time for them to go.

Apparently my trapping skills are subpar. This morning I found the trap tripped but empty and the bait container out in the yard.

Looks like I?ll reevaluate the bait and probably attach it to the inside of the cage as someone mentioned. I?ll also fine tune the trip mechanism on the trap and make sure it is operating smoothly.

I'm getting to the point of dealing with my raccoon problem too.

There are a couple of rather fat ones that like to play grab ass on the roof most nights. They also seem to think that leaving poop all over my roof is a good time...

Small metal parts dish, drilled two holes & affixed with a zip tie & have never had an issue with bait walking off since. Edging pin to anchor the trap from rolling works well.

I also put a small piece of bait near or just inside the entrance - seems to ease their concerns when the sample is easy pickings. Good luck.

Had a coon family living on my tree for a while.
We left them alone, they left us alone.
Then one night, momma raccoon and het grown babies came down the tree in a bee line, right in front of us, and left our yard.
Not a note, not a call...
We miss them, they were characters.
