Well.. I found out that IRacing was started by a cofounder of the Papyrus folks and he took most of the graphic designers with him when he left to start IRacing. I've been doing a lot of research with my wife about the service and options/costs, and have decided I'm getting onboard with it. I'll have to get an external RAM drive for my laptop and have ordered a raceSim setup from Extreme with all the crap I need to go with it.

Focusing on one series will help keep costs lower and I will follow the progression of licensing over time and advance up the scale ladder with patience. The game is heavily weighted on safe driving without devious/careless contact with other competitors or hitting the walls/getting off track/causing damage to your car. The game gives you kickbacks for regular participation to help buy new tracks or cars, and if you progress far enough to reach "pro" level, you can participate in the Coca Cola Series which actually pays checks in thousands of dollars if you can dominate. Many accomplished members in the league have received amounts anywhere from 10K up to the top near 130K. WTF?

Either way, some money in for some entertainment/hobby out of it...and hell if I get good at this system I might make some dough later on. All my gear should show up by mid Feb, assemble, gain function, and then start the membership and begin my journey.
