I have 2 Savage 93 series. Both have been re-stocked because I bought them with the cheap tupperware stocks. I know Savage has a spotty reputation, but in my experience it's undeserved. Both guns are astoundingly accurate for what turned out to be a $225 barreled action. I shot one of them at the Olympic Training Center for a couple of years. My best score with it was a 598 (perfect is 600) which basically equates to 60 consecutive shots into 3/8" at 50m. I had 50 in the 10 ring and 2 in the 9 ring. That was shooting Eley Yellow. The other has proved similarly accurate, though I never shot it down there. Interestingly, one or the other shoots CCI Standard into 1/2" at 50 yards. It shoots that ammo better than my expensive stuff.
The CZ 455 is very popular in the mid range, and I've heard good things about the Tikka T1X.
If you have a giant wad of cash in your pocket, my new Vudoo 360 is pretty amazing. The RimX is another fine choice.
