I mentioned in the past about a problem with Remington and their lack of customer service.
August 20, 2020 we bought my 11 year old son a Remington 700 UML for hunting season, from Scheels Johnstown. He would turn 12 right before season. He is a great shot and competes in Cowboy action. (has for a few years) In case you are wondering about a 50 caliber muzzle loader for a kid. Its also extremely heavy in the laminated stock so it tames recoil. He did take 2 antelope last year with a rifle.
This one is expensive and needs a background check due to its using a "standard" 700 action. We get it home and it load it up. A mild recommended load. Its hitting 3 feet low at 100 yard AFTER I adjust the sight past its highest position. By now I have tried several loads, combinations etc. The primers are also backing out on every shot. Not hot loads, any loads. I do some research and see that it has happened to others. My limited knowledge says maybe a headspace issue.
We get a hold of Remington. It is now September 2020. They assign a case number. Then basically we never hear from them again. We try to email, call, etc. They went through bankruptcy. However they could have took care of us. They did not. I tried again this summer to get them to help us. NOTHING.
Finally my wife stops in at Scheels and asks them. They said bring it back and they would refund the money.
Just over a year later from the time we purchased a firearm from Scheels in Johnstown, they refunded the full price. I was amazed that they would take a firearm back at all, let alone a year later.
(I should mention that I have never been there. I rarely go to stores except Home Depot for supplies)
Thanks to the employees of Johnstown Scheels that work in the gun/ hunting department.
