    Default Snakes!

One of our buildings has snakes. Property management called out a guy and he said bull snakes have a nest under a concrete stairwell. Quoted $3000 to get rid of them.

Three grand seems excessive, but I wasn't around to talk to the guy. He was telling the HOA president that they are dangerous.

Anyone have any experience with snake removal?

    Bull snake? Dangerous?

I pick those fuckers up out here all the time. One did spook me the other day, but just because I didn't see him. They're harmless unless you're a rodent.
I even got some under a barrel the other day and put 'em directly into mouse holes

The "guy" is somebody looking for a payday. Bull snakes are good to have around, and $3K is ridiculous to relocate them and close the den.

If you want to have a real good laugh, go get one while the wife is asleep, then wake her up with it inches from her face.
In my case, it only worked once

I worked for a major homebuilder in the 80's-90's. Major problem with settling of porches and patios due to lack of compaction/get it done construction practices. Ideal for rodents and snakes.

Some homeowners had followed the advice of placing mothballs in the holes. The guys tearing out the concrete would always tell the newbies they were snake eggs.

Any recommendations for getting rid of them?

The President texted me at 8:30am asking if I could remove the icky snake off her deck.

The HOA would pay me but I don't know what to do.

I have seen repellant at Lowe's and used it a couple years ago when they had garter snakes in the same area. My solution would be dump kerosene in the hole but I can't do that in a multi-family dwelling.

Sounds like you need a mongoose.

Then when the snakes are gone we can get a thread about how to deal with a rogue mongoose.
