Default Ballistic advantage bcg firing pin retainer issue.

Just got a new bcg. Retaining pin was crazy tough getting out. Now on reassembly can't seem to get the thing back in. Was not sure on best thing to do.

Even with bolt out, what seems to happen is the pin is so strong and has next to no tape at the tips that between the entry hole and the far side its resplaying enough to hang up on the far edges rather than levering in.

Get a different pin, try to file and angle the tips, try to bend the tips to be less aggressive etc?

You tried twisting the pin while inserting?
You have another BCG and pin that you can try some mix n match and see where the problem follows?
Can the pin make it through the first hole? If so, spend a minute twisting the tips in the first hole, in and out, etc.
Pliers/file would be my last resort, but I'd file the outside of the tips if I got to that point, and I'd be more comfortable with the filing process if another pin worked fine (almost confirming that it's the pin since another pin worked ok).

EDIT- BAMFG is a good shop, drop them a line about your troubles and they might swing you a nice spares kit.

Sounds silly, but this works for me. Tap it in really fast. Insert it to where you thing the ends are together and give it a good tap with something that won’t bend it or break it (wood) but still has enough momentum to get it in the next hole.

I also found for tricky ones if you put something to make a fulcrum where the ends meet to start the loop side and then bend the ends just slightly to take some of the aggressiveness out of the splaying

    Ohh likey.

Havnt messed with it much since, but with better light almost looked like the pin hole is slightly misaligned or the cotter isn't perfectly round so the tip is coming to the far hole missaligned.
