    keep water jugs in vehicles year round. Keep them 3/4 full in winter, basic 1gal containers, formerly held distilled water.

    I’ve had several Arizona tea bottle shatter when frozen. They’re thick, but not malleable plastic. At least they weren’t when I used a few for this idea about a decade ago. I now just use regular water/milk jugs that are flexible and only fill them up about 90%.

    I have a blue water two gallon container that looks like a mini gas can, thick plastic. Leave it outside all Winter with water, and no failures yet. I think it's made in Canada? Currently under 3-feet of snow, but in the Spring I'll see if there's a manufacturer name on it.
