The "Godfather" of COAR
First off, yea! Veteran for winning.
Well............. Ro'ing the local range. We see lots of those AR style 12 ga, lots.
Have yet to see 1 make it thru 1/2 box of shells, part of that is the owner cheaps out, ammo wise. It seems to be a younger demographic who buys it more for looks, than having a clue about them or shotguns in general.
Rarely, if ever have i, or anyone else, seen 1 of them that doesn't have issues. Short stroking, bolt over, jams when feeding a round. failure to extract, ftf, etc. . I did witness 1 work, after about 2 mags were tried. Nice pattern, but he was running slugs, after the other (buck, bird) had issues ^^
Find some 12ga with at least 1300 fps, try a few different brands to see what works. Then buy 3-4 boxes and run them, next trip, or two, at the range.
Make it 4x since 25 rds should be enough, to remind you your shoulder / body isn't what it use to be
If you don't feel like doing that, keep it unfired and sell it. You can get one of the benelli semi-auto copies for $400ish and they work. OR stick with a pump action.
