    Default List of recommended trainers/classes?

With the weather turning nice, it looks like the time of the year to start getting some training and enjoy the sunshine.

Does anyone have any local trainers or classes they would recommend?

Looking for anything good/interesting pistol, carbine, shotgun, long range, etc.. something more than a basic pistol class.

Here are a couple I've found local, but haven't been to them:

For long range, Colorado Precision Rifle is awesome. Brian is a great shooter and instructor. He runs his own training courses in addition to running the training programs for JP, TBAC, and Trigger Time.

Frank G from Snipershide has really solid courses as well.

Sometimes people trip and fall down stairs.
Sometimes assholes push people down stairs.
That doesn't mean "stairs are bad" nor does it make someone who pushes someone down the stairs any less of an asshole.

For sure YES on Brian Whalen and RW.

I have personally known both of them and been shooting with them for many years.

The most recommended person in my research turned out to be Charley at https://bigpandaperformance.com/about

I've been in at least 20-30 matches with him and this guy is for real. I'm waiting for his next class to be scheduled.

One more for these two... couldn't recommend both RW & Brian W. enough for anyone wanting to learn the basics or to improve on their existing skills. Excellent instructors & good guys.

Ive one of Charlie's books but not had opportunity follow up & take a class from him yet. On the todo list...

For those of you who took a class from RW: Can you please tell us a little bit about your experience?

Really depends on what you're looking for in a class. If it's to get a CCW, it's a group class with instruction live-fire training and holster work. Far, far better than the CCW class I took in a hotel conference room. If it's an more advanced class, it will depend on what you want (real-world, competition, tactical). RW is a hell of a shooter, but an even better teacher. He can teach from "basic pistol" to room clearing, swat tactics, rifle work, IPDA, USPSA, whatever. He never makes people feel dumb or gets a puffed up chest. He is a gentleman badass. I used to help him with classes and shoot with him every weekend at his "farm", miss that guy...

Based out of Monument, but their classes are all over the country. I attended one last fall and thought it was excellent. Not at all a "gunshot" only class, but covered all sorts of stuff.
