Default Suggestions for a rifle case

I need a rifle case for transport of a 45" scoped rifle that's on a Magpul Chassis.

I currently have a nice aluminium case* whose corners will gouge the heck out of any wall or car paint job that they may come in contact with.

I'm looking for a plastic case large enough for the rifle that will protect it without being hostile to walls and cars nearby.

Pelican cases are too hard and would cause damage, too.

So, softer case, not for airline travel but just for carrying around. Needs to be deep and tall as well as 46" or more to handle the chassis and scope.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

    * Really nice case. Won it at a major IPSC match back in the day when I was good.

Are you set on a hard case?

I got this one so I didn't have to take the can off my rifle and it's very nice. Best deal on a longer case (it's 54") I could find.

Made in Loveland. The best padded soft rifle cases I have seen.

I have several of them and wouldn't use anything else.

Just picked up two of these to protect rifles in the uhaul while moving to TX.

    Interior dimensions are 49.75" L x 9.8" W x 3" D.

Fit my 1903a3, and my scoped 10/22. (one in each case, not together).

It's a pretty decently made case for the price and they have them in stock at several of my local walmarts, definitely not for something like airline travel, but for your purposes, I think it would do perfectly.

Note: price in store was marked as $17.87, so a buck more than the online price... wasn't worth my time/effort to try to get them to give me the website price.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll circle back when I settle on one.

Though I thank mb504 for the suggestions, those cases get a hard pass. I've never understood why people put their rifles scope down (while carrying) in a case. The last thing I want to take the brunt of force is the scope. Those cases are made to assure that the scope takes all the inertial force of the rifle if dropped (they mitigate it somewhat with the straps, but why even start out that way?)

Ps. No, not set on a hard case, thanks for the suggestions!
