I found this front half assembly, has anyone bought one of these?
how is the bore ?
could i use a romainian front and rear trunion?
it says it is missing the stock ferrule
what is a stock ferrule?

what about building it into a pistol?

would a milled bulgarian front handguard fit this?

If i built this it would be a Frankenstein of a rifle!

should I stop thinking so cheap and buy a proper ak-47 or ak74 parts kit?

milled trunnion is different than the stamped

yugo handguards are longer then most euro com-block ak's

pistol wise still need the rest of the yugo stuff and receiver
speaking from experience regarding a yugo parts kit. unless it is a complete ready to run rifle, by the time you nickel and dime it together you could have already purchased one ready to go.

If you want a decent-good deal on a yugo see if brycomski still has a yugo he put in the for sale forum. good price for a clean, good shooting AK.

Yes you can use the milled receiver stubs and grind them down(or mill) and convert them into trunnions. Install them in the stamped reciever, drill and rivet away.

As far as handgaurds go I don't know. Personally I would leave the hand gaurds because they add to the "effect"

You could use the milled front end and install another stamped rear trunnion. I have a romanian G with a hungarian side folder. As far as the barrels go they are luck of the draw. The yugos saw lots of use and their ammo was corrosive.

Apex has a physical store? with the PO Box on their website, I figured they were a warehouse/garage operation... I've been thinking of getting one of these to do a pistol build... I'll give them a call today

After calling them, they are mail order only, don't have a store front- but they'll be at the Tanner show at the end of the month, and they said I can email them with what I'd like, and they'll bring it to the show & set it aside... (or I can put in an order and they'll ship it)

I picked up a parts kit for centerfire systems, overall it was in good shape, a typical romainian G kit, the website says that they can't guarantee that they are numbers matching but mine was, also there is a hidden fee if you pay with credit or debit card , the fee was around 7$ for my order.

Just imagine a yugo pistol with the reciever welded back together with a homade receiver flat, with the welds not dressed at all not refinished at all.
(here comes the best part) and a grenade launching muzzle attachment and some pracice grenades. (I would call it PCP, my Politically Correct Pistol)

for a pistol, a stamped receiver is probably how I'd go.. I do have a mill, but it brings up a question- if you weld "repair plates" to the existing stub, is it now a US made receiver? I would presume it is, since Demil process made it a "non-receiver", so once it becomes complete enough to be a receiver again, if that's done in the US, then it's a US-made part..

while I find your PCP idea amusing, I'd grind down the welds & put a finish on it... gunkote, probably.. or maybe just BBQ or engine paint

I know a guy that helps run a building website that will go down there in their warehouse or what ever. I think he knows the guys but I know he will hand select for some of the people on his website and also gets some deals cause he buys a bunch of stuff.
