Default Fire Code- Dryer Duct Cleaning

My HOA passed a new rule stating homeowners are required to have their dryer vents cleaned every three years.

I was talking to the President of the board and she said they did this because of a "new law" that was passed that her friend told her about. I replied if she can't cite the law, there is going to be a lot of resistance from the homeowners.

I have been looking but can't find anything specific.

Does anyone know of any statutes about dryer vent cleaning in multi-family properties?

Who allows them in your house to check? Maybe you do for all I know. Good luck with that

I was thinking the same thing... how do they enforce that without access to the property? Demand documentation attesting to it being done?

I'm sure there's some junior college offering a certificate program to be a professional dryer vent cleaner.
No longer accepting new Trust clients. Pretty much out of the law business completely.

Print yourself a certificate of completion and blow the vent out with your leaf blower.

Tell them you don’t have a dryer.
