    Default Flashlight suggestion needed

    Ok here we go....

I need a durable flashlight with the following attributes for a specific application:

    1. MUST BE ABLE TO CHANGE BATTERIES FROM FRONT OF LIGHT
    2. 1" diameter body
    3. Approximately 4-7 inches in length
    4. Must accept a tape or pressure switch
    5. Max lumens, Candelas and battery life, etc.

If you have specific suggestion, manufacturer and model numbers would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

candle power forum - there are some semi-custom folks there that can tune something in - but never cheap; almost always runs hot and bright

This is "sort of" the direction I think you are going in; rear battery swap not front - but it can be charged via usb directly. A quick google did show that a remote switch can be found for the hardware.

I know there are some mixed feelings about Olight but I have a Warrior 3 that almost fits the bill.

The only box it doesn't check is the battery replacement from the front. This has a rechargeable battery that comes out the back. It does use a magnetic cable so you don't have to remove anything, though.

Extra batteries and tape switches are available. There's always another flash sale around the corner with them.

My Olight is superior to those offerings costing 3X as much.

I do have a few of the Olight - front battery access - tail cap magnetic charging so no no issues with water.

I currently do like the baton version tho I find running it in high mode a bit warm. No tail switch on the baton version but

This might be an option - not used this version tho

I bought two Olights a few months back on an Amazon flash sale. Not disappointed in the least. I love the magnetic charging. Besides the fact the lights are really first rate, their customer service is very good, too. One of the cables charged but the little indicator light would never change from red to green once the light was charged. Sent an email, answered promptly and a replacement was sent in 24 hours. You could do worse.

Like most of these threads - it will always end up costing me some money. For quality I do like the Olights - but I decided to poke at some fringe flashlights - Convoy S2+ is the name of the beast. Front and back are removable, options exist for remote switch. It can take 16850 style batteries (protected and otherwise). The hard part is that the configuration is very fluid and you have to know a bit about the design to order one. I don't think the quality will be useful as a defense light; but it has a few features I want to try out. It will take 30+ days to ship so I bet I will go - did I order this when it arrives. - Price wise about 30 ish dollars without the battery.
