AC Install in CO Springs

There was a thread recently from a few HVAC folks discussing AC unit brands. I can't find it. Regardless, we are moving to a house that doesn't currently have AC. I'd like to see about getting it installed. Anyone local want to give me a quote? We will take possession of the house the second of August.

Side note. I think we are going to keep the existing carpet, but it needs to be cleaned and stretched. If anyone wants to take a look at what I've got, let me know.

Always replace the carpet if you don't know it's history.

It is a labyrinth that traps everything airborne. Add a spill and you can have organic growth problems- mold, bacteria, etc. You don't know what the previous owner had in the house that could have been an allergen to you or others in your family.

And I don't care what Coit says, their vacuums are never going to pull out all the crud that has made it into the pad.

Two things I recommend to every new homeowner. Replace the carpet and clean the ducts.

I just got a complicated install done a month ago by SoCo Heating and Cooling. They did a great job. They use Daikin equipment, I got a whole new furnace and heat pump along with a second ductless upstairs.

You are probably correct. I had forgotten how disgusting the carpet was in my current home…
It looks to be in decent shape, but I suppose you never really know.

Same carpet since we bought in 1993. Cat, dogs and kids. Coat your roof white to reflect the heat. Insulate attic. If I was spending $ on AC I would buy solar to run it.

Home Heating did a new furnace and new AC install for us in 2020. Excellent workman ship and sized correctly. Previously they serviced our furnace for many years. We just decided to replace a 24 year old furnace and add AC and a humidifier.

We spoke with the current owner and got the age of the carpet. With that knowledge we did some running around and shopping this past weekend and found a local shop able to go measure today (Monday). That moved the timeline for getting an install done up by several weeks. With any luck they can get it done the week we take possession.

If there's enough money left over we'll start calling around for AC quotes.
