AK style cleaning kits use a pull through system. I have been using one for years.
Our education is failing at the basic stuff . Kids without a knife can't cut a patch to fit.

I've used the bore snake kits for years but never add a patch, they're not made to be used with extra crap. A little CLP and a rip or few through the bore and Bob's yer uncle.
Obviously if you don't have a clue how they are supposed to feel or fuck with the system (any system) beyond its intended use, you're going to have issues.
