    Default Motorcycle info

I have a 50cc dual sport motorcycle. Really a moped but clutch makes it a motorcycle.
I got it registered in VT because I was told that?s easier and then register it in state. VT just delivered my plate but they didn?t give me a tag.
I would love to ride it just for fun and maybe one work commute this year for giggles. I can insure it. I still need a M endowment.
Do you guys think I can ride it in CO on VT plates for the one year of VT fees I paid? Or am I asking for problems with the front range police?

Don?t hold me to this and you?ll have to verify whether I?m feeding you false information.

I think 50cc and under are fairly unregulated in Colorado. I don?t believe they need to be plated or registered and I don?t think you need a motorcycle endorsement to operate one.

If I?m wrong, let me know so I don?t continue to spread inaccurate information.

Skimming through it, the fact that you have a clutch might exclude you from the low powered scooter class.

I have seen cars with paper plates that are two years expired. Enforcing registration laws doesn't seem to be a high priority.

Ride it. A ticket is likely less expensive than a title transfer and new plates.

Many states dont give tags. Just plates. You'll be fine.

The majority of LE wouldn't know a clutch lever on a moped, if it bit them. I'd tell them it was a compression release lever and call it good. besides it's 50cc, so who cares.

This whole thread will be moot when the OP is running wide open at a blistering 22 mph and is run over by a pot head updating his social media on his way to his favorite dispensary.

I'd be more concerned about getting gacked riding something that small & slow. Not to mention looking like a bear on a minibike.....
