4 year is prob max battery life now a days. Gone are the days where a battery will last 7-10 years. I replace every 4 years just as a precaution.

Drove truck around for about 45 minutes to charge battery and haven?t had issues since. This was two weeks ago.

Supposedly some alternators do not charge at low rpm. My brother has had the same issue with his two chevy trucks, new battery low charge and they wouldn?t idle.

As a sidenote, I am glad I bought the battery through 4 wheel parts. If I had used amazon, no battery manufacturer will honor warranty as amazon is rife with counterfeits.
I've had a couple Odyssey batteries. The one on the ATV lasted a LONG time. On a truck I didn't use often, it died within 2 years. For the price, I'm not going back there for a group 65. I'm onto a family member's company discount where I get the Duralast golds for $130 ($70 less than the sticker). A lot easier to swallow at that price.

Down here, especially in the valley / Phoenix. They say the life expectancy is 2-3yrs, tops. Every 2 yrs , recommended in the phoenix area

A good old lead acid Interstate will last many years.

I am coming around to the AGMs as well.

AGM and Optima batteries require a specific charger or they will go bad over time. These batteries require a de-sulfate mode which pulses a high amperage shock to knock loose the sulfate. WIthout the AGM charger the sulfate build up to a point where the battery capacity continues to decline. After an AGM charge de-sulfate the battery should be like new again. If it doesn't recover bring it back to a battery center and they can do the shock to recover your battery. Like someone else stated the new Optima is not the same quality since they moved out of the good old USA. The plates are thinner and do not have the same capacity as the old ones.

Just replaced a Costco group 78 battery last month in a 2000 Silverado that was installed May of 2011 (not a typo - 2011) Finally quit holding a charge after 11+ years. Given the age and condition of the truck, I went ahead and paid Costco ~$107 out the door for a basic replacement since they we OOS of the group 78 AGM version.
Roughly half of what I was expecting to pay, and if it lasts 3-4 yrs, I'll be perfectly happy.

Just replaced the batteries in my 2007 Duramax, they were walmart ones from 2014, tested them and they were only 58% capacity at 100% charge. Probably would have died on me during the first cold snap.

Just bought my 1st Walmart battery yesterday. Everstart Maxx 59-all the reviews I read seemed to rate this battery fairly well.
