Off Road

Anyone know of a good website showing off road/jeep trails across the nation? There used to be a website that gave trail ratings that I used all the time in Colorado but didn't use it a lot after I sold my jeep. Now all I find is crappy sites and I can't seem to find anything that gives great information.

Some more specific details on some roads/trails are for paying members only, like way points of good camping locations, sights, etc. The basic info for all should be free.

Yeah, Trail Damage was always my go-to for Colorado trails but after they went to paid-only I stopped visiting the site.

There are always the Charles Wells books as well as the Peter Massey "trails" books for CO, AZ, UT, etc:

I'm not aware of a single web site that has trail ratings, trip reports, etc. I think you have to just find the region your looking for and search the internet on that.

OnX or gaiagps are my go to apps for off-roading and overlanding. You have to pay for both, but it’s cheap compared to getting stuck on a dead end trail in the middle of the night or having to turn around and backtrack a few hours cause you missed a turn….

If you take the time to download a particular area on each app, you won’t need cell signal to know exactly where you are and what’s around you. Another plus, is the layering of the map. You will always know if you are on private, or public land, if you can camp, shoot or do whatever you fancy, legally, where you stop. Invaluable.

Another one that is great app is Cotrex. Free and works really well for me on the dirtbike. Have also used it when playing on the trails in my buddies Jeep. Check it out, It's free.

That's too bad they went paid. That was the one I used all the time.

Quite a few trails in AR that I want to check out. Looking to get another off road rig in the near future. Everytime I go the Bentonville area, there are a ton of Jeeps, Tacomas, 4Runners, Blazers, etc. that have a ton of mods. There are ton of snorkel kits on off road vehicles in the area.
