    Default CMP 1911 round 4

    Might be too late but just read earlier today that the CMP is now allowing two lifetime 1911's with only 1 in a calender year so if you have already received one 1911 prior to 2023 you can now apply for a second. The packets for round 4 need to be postmarked by tomorrow. I scrambled and got my info together this afternoon and sent off my packet for 1911 #2.

    Got mine done for the Sept round that was announced in Aug. I got a really nice 1943 Colt Service Grade back in Feb 2020.

    I read somewhere that the CMP will have a round 5 mid 2024. I don’t remember where I read it ….

    If CMP lets Round 4 run its course before opening Round 5, here is a guess as to when Round 5 would open using estimates already posted on this forum:

    RGN?s Round 4 = 6,500
    Orders processed per workday = 25
    Workdays to complete Round 4 = 260
    Workdays per month = 21
    Months to complete Round 4 = 13 (rounded up)
    Round 4 start = November, 2023
    Round 4 end = December, 2024
    Start Round 5 application - November, 2024
    Start Round 5 RGN calls = January, 2025
