For any real fanatic of the 1911-such as myself lol-The Vickers Guide Vol. 1 & 2 are pricey but worth it-by Larry Vickers. I especially like Volume 2. Vol 2 does a deeper dive on the custom built pistols. I’d loan you mine but still haven’t gotten them back from the friend that borrowed them in January hahaha.

There’s a lot to a custom 1911 than more than swapping parts but you know that. The friend I sold my 1980 built Bill Wilson Colt to in 1984 that I competed with for 4 years still has it. The only part replaced since new has been the extractor. Crazy.
