Default Cold spot on new chest freezer?

Half a beef coming, Got a new chest freezer, seemeed undamaged in shipping box. but on the back side where it looks like aluminum foil over a slightly softer material there is a dime sized or so cold spot that gets a little condensation on it. It is near the condensor etc below it and a little to the side.

Within the norm, or think it's fubar? Everythings cold but worried about it running more than it should.

It could be in contact with the coil. Take it off and knock it out a bit. External condensation can cause issues down the road.

As far as running more than it should, that will change once you get it full of beef and the target temperature is achieved. Solid material hold temperature better than air.

stick a bunch of empty boxes or milk containers in there. You need something to fill that space, till the beef arrives. Also will stop that running on as much as it is now.

I put water bottles in mine to take up air space.

^^^This. I use gallon milk jugs, large Gatorade bottles and half gallon juice bottles. Will always have block ice on hand.
