Sawing isn’t an approved method of destruction. I’d argue that they still transferred guns at least twice illegally. In addition to I assume cutting barrels to a NFA length. God help them if they destroyed a serial number too…….

I believe it is the Presbyterian Church who funds this. The metal is used to make garden tools. Thus the name.

    Only redeemable at King Soopers.

That person received $450 worth of King Soopers gift cards in exchange for the Blackhawk (150), scoped Remington 700 (50), and AR15 (250).

Absolutely no way for any volunteer to steal one.

I was told all the metal was taken by a local blacksmith, who was one of the guys in an orange vest.

$450 was probably the value of that scope alone.
Not a matter of someone stealing one. Or cutting them up. A transfer still happened. If it was documented with 20 witnesses...

Illegal transfer between parties. All transfers require a background check though an FFL and a 3 day wait before receiving the firearm...

Both the program and sellers are guilty. The anti gunners wanted this nonsense, so enforce it.

As much as we would like to see it, prosecutorial discretion would keep them from being charged with anything.

Dang! Now I want sardines. And not the cheap ones I have in my cupboard. Outstanding choice of groceries.

I wonder if they take ammunition? I'm guessing someone on the staff was LEO trained and maybe even carrying.

I remember when they started some of these buy-backs years ago in certain s-hole cities and seeing lots of police at them. I'd love to see a list of what they take in in a year. There has to be some real jewels that show up!

    LOL that's hilarious.

I have this old .22 that two gun smiths have told me that would cost more than the gun is worth to fix. So it sits broken in my safe. I always thought, what am I gonna do with it. I am tired of moving it every time I move, maybe I'll have it destroyed. Called local ATF and they said just take hammer and throw it out (basically). I'm like you want me to throw a gun in the trash? It's not functional now but I'm sure some ingenuity someone could make it happen. I don't have major cutting tools. So yet it still sits. I always thought if I came across a gun buyback I could at least get a couple of bucks for it that way. But there aren't any in my area that I know of.
