    Default Silent Coup?

I watched some youtube discussion by journalists, then it said the video was unavailable. I guess the constitutional republic has really morphed into a military industrial complex. We were warned by Eisenhower about this. The basis of the discussion was an adjudicated rapist felon versus a senile incompetent. Then the video went blank.

"The idea that..." If I ever hear that phrase again I'll likely choke the person saying it.

And from Trump everything was "...the best it's ever been" or a form of that.

I'd like a reset button on the choices this election. Since that's not on the table I guess I'll vote for the convicted felon. I'll admit I don't like the man...but life in this country was a lot better with him in charge over the senile plagiarist.

    Slate- Biden Must Drop Out.

Mother Jones- This was not only a missed chance. It was a disaster. Afterward Democrats had good cause to be in despair and to wonder if disarray was on its way.

The New Republic- Ditch Biden. That Debate Performance Was a Disaster.
Joe Biden’s job at Thursday’s debate should have been easy. He failed on every level.

Poor old Joe. Nobody likes him today.
Kamala is on the phone right now, looking for a VP candidate that can run with her.

One a side note, I don't even know if someone can be dropped/swapped at this stage.

Presidential elections have deadlines to appear on State ballots. What are they going to do, have all the libs write in "bert and ernie" on their ballot? Unless they 24th him, which I don't see happening.

    Interesting timing.
Neither has yet been confirmed as a candidate by their respective parties, but both are the presumed candidates.
I was frustrated that this was the best and the brightest that our voters could figure out to be running for president.
A true disappointment that is fast becoming alarm.

I've always wanted the option of "Catapult" on the ballot. If it gets the majority both candidates are hurled into the ocean. A new election is held in 6 months.

Until the conventions, it is not decided, regardless of the primaries and caucuses. The delegates decide who is going to represent their party. If someone drops out, there is a scramble to pick up those delegates.

    From NPR-

Biden must ultimately win the majority of the nearly 4,000 ?pledged? delegates at the DNC ? so, if there?s enough opposition from uncommitted delegates or delegates for other candidates, the president would fall short of winning the nomination in the first round of balloting. That could potentially lead to the political chaos of a brokered convention, which hasn?t happened for either party since 1952.

I have no idea what would happen if he quit after the convention, although there must be rules in place for that as well.

Slate has a good article about the possibilities HERE.

    Default The IC

It does not matter who wins. The role of president is as a figurehead. The real power is in the daily operations of the IC.

These are the people that really run the country...

It is clear that Biden is NOT able to handle his position. Hell, 99% of the world would not trust him to watch their toddler for 5 minutes.

Am I the only one who thinks a handshake should have been offered/exchanged at the start of this thing? I'm sure it was discussed by both candidates' handlers, why would they decide not to go there? Someone could have made a big impression by showing a little respect for the opposition.

Wrong choice in my opinion. Any comments?
