    Default Plumber recommendation

I'm too busy to futz with putting in a replacement water heater. Tank under warranty but I did the install myself. I'll sort the tank/warranty side of it but I need someone to do the install & heavy lifting on site & could use a couple of references please. Thank you.

Allen and sons from castlerock, but not sure where you need the work done.
Sometimes people trip and fall down stairs.
Sometimes assholes push people down stairs.
That doesn't mean "stairs are bad" nor does it make someone who pushes someone down the stairs any less of an asshole.

Applewood advertises on TV and in the Denver Post. Must be legit. Two weeks ago they quoted my co-worker $9,600 to replace a 40 gallon water heater.

    Good luck with your project.

    Hope that's a typo^^^

Yup. Not as much as you said but admittedly, I was taken aback when I heard the 'base' installation rate from a couple of companies yesterday. Holy heck.

I'll just do it. Figure out the heavy lifting elsewhere - husband is recovering from a herniated disk which is why the project even went this direction. Giggle

I was talking to an HVAC guy last week about water heater replacements. He said that $5-$6 was "normal" for a water heater replacement.

At that rate, it would be cheaper to hire a lawyer at their hourly rate to do it.

Once you have the hot water heater in place, it should only take 30 minutes or less to get it all connected.

If you can find a lawyer that will wrench/sweat pipes for $475 an hour then you will save a boatload of $$ over Applewood and the likes of them.

Applewood is the most expensive place I've come across. The gave a customer a quote of 400 to pull and reset a toilet.

9 news had a story last month about Applewood charging $13k to replace a lady's water heater.

If you disconnect it yourself, the delivery guys will take the old one.

The big companies who advertise on TV are generally expensive. They have a lot of overhead to cover and a big marketing budget.
