Default Before I pay the service folks too much. Fridge leasing water into ice box and floor

    Leaking even*

Whirlpool French door fridge over top of freezer box. Seems to be leaking water into the top of the box and freezing but also either thawing or escaping out otherwise a slow leak onto the flooring at the corner. It's not steady as sometimes it seems like there's a day without visible water but doesn't quite seem to follow a pattern of is i used the ice machine or not.

Repair clinic dot com had a forum and may have this exact model listed.

When it happened to me the tube draining from the coil defrost to the back of the fridge was plugged. This then caused the water not to drain under the fridge into an evaporative tray but instead to pool in fridge or drain to below freezer tray.

You may have to pull fridge out and open the cover on the bottom. Inspect the drain tube for crud. Additionally in the fridge you will probably have to remove a panel in the back to expose the coils. They drain into a tube that is probably frozen over. Once open a hair dryer and some elbow grease removes the ice. Then you may need to unfreeze the drain tube to the back of the fridge evaporator tray.

Easy. Take time. Look on YouTube for videos.

It happened to me as well, I had overloaded the freezer and frost built up. Once I got a chest freezer and knocked out the frost it went back to normal. No issues since and that was 2 years ago.

When our fridge was leaking water, the drain for the freezer had a frozen blueberry stuck in. It would cause the water to drain down the bottom, and out the front. Check to make sure that isn’t the case.
