Americans also forgot as well as looked the other way after the boston marathon bombing. Where house to house searches were met with zero resistance, protest or even a lawsuit filed against a warrentless search. Naturally, in the name of "homeland security" the citizens complied, without hesitation.

But thankfully we have a Constitution where that doesn't happen, right?

Or even those who believe local LE will not do anything IF a confiscation order was activated. The old school cop is and has been replaced by touchy/feely "compassionate" LE. Look at your local Dept. Notice how they're all looking like your kids or grandkids age.
