Standby generator tech?
Our Kohler standby generator is giving me the message "Main Power Overload Shutdown". When I hit the Run button, it makes 3 clicks like it's trying but then quits and can't crank the motor (LP). It's worked great for a decade and nothing has changed in our system. Zero chance this 20kw generator is suddenly overloaded.
The only thing I can think of is Xcel was up here recently and upgraded components on our power pole for better wildfire safety (not the actual transformer). The only other clue I have is the app is grayed out for "Load Module" but I can see Controller and Engine data.
To make matters worse, Xcel has a scheduled shutdown all day Wednesday for power pole replacement in our neighborhood. Normally we'd have power during this outage from the generator. Just have to rough it.
I can't find anyone who works on Kohler gensets, they all seem to exclusively do Generac these days. Anybody have a good electrician for the Front Range?
