They have a great selection of guns, but are expensive compared to other gun shops.

Sounds like they are consolidating operations to the west side store that opened in 2022. Not horribly surprising given Scheels rise to dominance just down the road.

I‘m old. I remember the Old Surplus Jax here in The People’s Republic of FOCO: fighter canopies, parachutes, instrument panels from jets, jeeps, trucks, real 50bmg ammo cans for $4, ALICE packs, dummy 250 pound bombs, strap on fire extinguishers that could shoot water across a street (great for water fights), good selection of guns and ammo, etc. I purchased a fair amount of stuff from them. These days its just an expensive outdoor clothing/cooking/fishing store with a bit of 2nd Amendment hidden in a seperate building.

jax went anti-AR during 2016 as some sort of pro-fuddery (along with Dick's). The more of them that close, the better.

In Colorado Springs, Paradise and Colorado Arms Repair are both shutting down.

Talking to several friends/FFLs sales are way down, after the 3 day waiting passed one said he saw a 70% reduction in business. I know personally I've bough way fewer, I used to go into random gun shops when I was in a different part of town/the state and almost always walked away with something. But having to go back 3 days later killed that.

On top of that a few home based FFls I know said they aren't going to renew because with the state adding in fees/licenses its not worth it.

If this next batch of bills passes I fear it will kill everyone but the big box stores.

I think this is exactly what anti-gun folks intent with these laws. Make it so hard, annoying and taxed to buy or sell guns that no one wants to buy one.
I've bought almost nothing since the 3-day went into effect. I didn't feel like messing with it.

Yep, the 3 day wait killed my will as far as buying from anyone here on this sight that isn't real close in proximity to me because I don't want to make a long trip twice.
Just like the piss poor shipping these days. I've read so many horror stories lately about guns going missing in shipping that I've lost my will to buy from anyone out of state.
Laws aren't "preventable" measures. IOW, more gun laws won't stop mass shootings.

Thats what I was thinking. My question is why are we running the California playbook? Everyone knows the outcome. Spoke to a family member that moved out of state. Says he escaped. Another problem , as a private seller its tough. If I were a gambling man, I'd say the less standup folks are just saying "eff it".

Because CO is just CA 2.0. Have been for the last 20+ years.
