I read that sentence every day on left leaning news sources.

People that attend that rally are just looking to reinforce their existing beliefs. Same as someone on the right going to a Trump rally or to see Charlie Kirk.

It’s less about objectively assessing the facts and more about protecting one's ideological commitment. Or emotional commitment- Many people have poured their hearts and identities into politics, making it deeply personal.

I have taken the time to listen to each of his speeches. Hardly a fanboy, but he's clearly not stupid, appeals to common sense, and has a team of strategists and attorneys reviewing all proposed policies before speaking of them publicly, expecting immediate blowback.

They are good speeches.

Most Leftists never even bother to listen to those speeches, relying instead on media and memes to relay "What Trump REALLY meant, and why he is absolutely insane and a danger to Democracy!"
