Default Has anyone used GunBroker's UPS shipping for non-FFLs?

Looks easy to use, but I can't figure out the typical shipping costs. If you have experience with this new service, please post a review.

    I have not.

I use shipmygun.com and it has been painless.

Looks like you have to have a back account on file with GB first.

Thanks for the info! Thinking about thinning my collection by posting on GB. Lord knows I bought enough from them!

I worked through GB's shipping solution today and was quoted $106 to ship a pistol from Littleton to Montana FFL with $1000 (add $20/$1000) insurance and signature confirmation. It still had to be "UPS FFL Delivery" (assuming Next Day). It's not inexpensive.

It has long been that Handguns have to ship via overnight next day air if not shipping from a FFL.

Let me guess... you have to drop that off at the UPS or Fedex hub directly, right?

I have not looked at their solution, but it sounds like they are just printing UPS/Fedex labels that customers could've printed themselves and branding it as their solution? Maybe they have a discounted rate to make their surcharge transparent and it saves 10 minutes not having to transfer data. I don't know, but I'd hestitate to call that anything more than label printing?

As a side note - FFLs can ship handguns via USPS priority mail. So you often can save money by shipping handguns FFL to FFL even if your local charges a $50 fee on top of the USPS label.

Exactly, the shop I use for this is about 40-50 bucks for a pistol so some savings.

    I just ran quote through shipmygun.com to Great Falls,MT. 5lbs and $1000 insurance. $40.47

You have to drop it at UPS which may not work for some. They say you can't drop it at a UPS store. My guess is you probably could because I shipped 2 to 3 times a week at UPS stores with pre-printed labels and only once have I had anybody ask me what was in the package. And that's because I saw the guy often enough he was curious what I was shipping so frequently.
