Best Single Pistol Safe/Vault For Multiple Locations in Home

I was contacted by a family member for recommendations on the best/most reliable quick access pistol safes/vaults to use in a couple locations around the house.
Lokking for ability to hold a full size semi auto and a spare mag or 2.
Ease and reliabilty of access is desired, and he's leaning towards biometric.
There will be children at the residence, so that is a factor. There is urgency involved in procuring them as well.

I appreciate any input you all may have from your experiences.

I tried searching the site, but I'm working from my phone this evening so that wasn't super productive.

the specific recommendations, but the arguments against biometric come down to condition of fingers--bloody/sweaty-wet/missing? Now, that may be on the farfetched side, but that's what i've seen as compared to numerical.

I'm not sold on biometric myself, but I think he's under the impression of it being faster and less fumble proof than push buttn, touchpad, etc.

Open to all recomenfstions at this point.

I have a Vaultek 20 series in my nightstand drawer. They offer biometric options that all have numerical backups as well as keyed access. I don't know if it's the "best" but it's served its purpose.

EDIT: I just looked at the price. Not sure what comparable products cost these days but I didn't pay nearly as much as they're asking these days. I felt like I should add this note.

Seems like Vaultek was mentioned in some of the older threads on here. Worth a look.

I'll steer him to Sportsman's to look at Vaultek since they are supposedly stocking them and have him check out the SecureIt site.

I've got two V-lines that I quite like for these purposes. Stoutly built, simplex mechanical push button combination lock that is very fast to operate, and no batteries to worry about. A bit pricey, but excellent for keeping curious little fingers to themselves.

Actually, I have an old v-line that has suited me well. Another good recommendation, if I can get him away from the biometrics.
