I have no problem with Israel taking care of their enemies. I'm rooting for them. They do a great job handling their own shit. But I certainly hope the US doesn't decide on direct action in Iran. The world seems to be itching for a war. They've been trying to initiate one for years.

Trump has been VERY anti-war, one of his better policy positions, I hope he holds to that.

Trump is NOT helping. As usual, when he came late to the party he had to jump in and pretend to be orchastrating it and "Jesus intervined and saved the supreme leader, but he'll kill him soon".

Isreal didn't kill Khomeini because they understand the theocracy. If you kill him, you Martyr him, and resolve in the internal tension, making his son the legitimate successor. Keep him alive, and fragment the theocracy, kill those of high position and birth, and succession is less clear and you can potentially turn Iran into a tribe of warring imbiciles. If Trump (or Americans without this insight) inject themselves, they can fuck this up to high heaven.

The sect of Islam that Iran leads does not believe "just anyone" can lead. Shia Muslims believe it should be a descendant of the Prophet, specifically Ali, his cousin and son-in-law, and it's a rather fragle standard. Martyr'ing is a big thing as well. Shia is only 10% of the islamic world, but causes about 60% of the problems.

But Trump doesn't study anything, he just the group project participant that shows up on the last day, drunk, and takes credit for everything he essentially had no involvement in. Iran would be unified if Khomeini is killed. Kill off all the "descendants" instead, and 25 different buck-teethed "muhammed bin goat lovin's" all assert to be the proper descendant of the prophet, and their country falls apart - if you patiently wait for Khomeini to croak.

Mostly because Russia and China are on Irans side and if we enter, they'll likely come to Iran's aid turning the whole thing into WWIII with strong nuclear possibilities.

The problem here is the world has speculated as to whether or not Iran already has nukes. Yesterday Iran made the following cryptic comment: "a great surprise will occur - one that the world will remember for centuries". This sort of comment hints at them having and intending to use nuclear weapons. That, or (and I believe we've all heard the rumors) they actually do have terrorist cells within the United States and plan to activate them.

Iran is radical and capable of doing quite a bit of damage if either of the two possibilities mentioned above have validity, and then there's Russia and China again too. Now, there are reports that Iran's missile supplies are running low. The Ayatollah's regime is getting desperate as they are losing power. If they have enough enriched material to make a nuclear weapon, they will use it.

My opinion is we give Israel a couple of MOAB bunker busters to take out the Iranian Fordow nuclear plant (or whatever munitions are capable of taking out this hardened site) and sit back. We aggress only in direct response to actions against us and our asset's. Hopefully, that will keep Russia and China out of it.

Russia is trying to look big on the world stage but they have their hands full right now. Ukraine's strike this month took out a significant portion of Russia's ability to project power; I don't believe they would be able to intervene militarily to protect Iran right now. China is a whole other question. Xi has some domestic issues on his plate but he has all the forces that he'd otherwise use to take Taiwan if he thinks Iran is worth protecting.

I prefer a different negotiator. "The best diplomat I know is a fully activated phaser bank."
