This is another example of Israel working a long time to have assets in position for the right moment. Mossad moved in people, vehicles, drones over a period of time to be ready when the go was given as advance for the air force. Kinda like the pager project last September.

People trust Israel way too much.

I figure the Islamic Republic of Iran has the bomb. What is scary is they probably have the "small atomic demolition munition". If Saddam had some it would have been very difficult to take Baghdad. Set one off next to a nuclear power plant...

I'll be honest, I'm not sure your point.

Are you throwing shade on the NYT's?
    The Israelis for attacking now?
Or us for going in with "they have a bomb" story?

The point is Israel has said repetitively for 30 years that Iran was 3-5 years away from a nuke. Were they crying wolf or manipulating us into a war they want to have? I think people have been conditioned all their lives to trust Israel. I?m not so sure it?s a good idea.

I read now they formally asked us to join in and Trump said no. Anyone else see that reported?

Ok and its Iran itself that was saying it last week so Israel reacted. Thats what made all this different: The IAEA (sp?) stated they weren't playing by the rules any more the Iran responded that they would do whatever they wanted to do.

Watchdog finds Iran failing to meet nuclear obligations

"......They announced that Iran would respond by setting up a new uranium enrichment facility at a "secure location" and by replacing first-generation centrifuges used to enrich uranium with more advanced, sixth-generation machines at the underground Fordo facility........."

Yes, it was reported the moment this kicked off........... Rubio stated it clearly in his Statement to the press/world that night.

    https://tutorials.nti.org/nuclear-10....%20%5B%204%5D

Breakout time is less when starting from an existing stockpile of uranium enriched to 3-5% uranium-235?the level used for nuclear power?than when starting with natural uranium. Enrichment removes unwanted uranium-238, making the concentration of uranium-235 atoms higher. It takes much more work to enrich uranium to 3-5% uranium-235 (typical power reactor fuel), than it does to further enrich uranium from 3-5% to 90% uranium-235 (weapons-grade material).

Starting out with natural uranium, a facility with nearly 6,000 early-generation centrifuges could produce about 40 kg of weapons-grade uranium within a year. [3]
If material pre-enriched to 3.5% uranium-235 is used, a facility with the same capacity could produce about 180 kg of weapons-grade uranium per year. [4]

    https://www.iranwatch.org/our-public...20one%20weapon.

[2] The IAEA estimated that as of February 8, 2025, Iran's uranium stockpile contained 7,464.0 kg of uranium in the form of uranium hexafluoride (UF6), 274.8 kg of which was enriched "up to" a level of 60% in the fissionable isotope U-235, 606.8 kg of which was enriched "up to" a level of 20% U-235, and 3,655.4 kg of which was enriched "up to" a level of 5% U-235. The U-235 isotope makes up about .7% of natural uranium; its concentration can be increased, or enriched, using centrifuges.

[3] Twenty kilograms of uranium in the form of UF6 enriched to 90% U-235 are assumed to be sufficient for one weapon. The uranium would need to be further processed into finished metal weapon components, which is assumed to cause about a 20% loss of material.

It would seen that more than enough time has passed for Iran to have plenty of enriched Uranium.

Whether they have the delivery devices and the triggers necessary for a weapon is another question. However, working with the Chinese, North Koreans and Russians would lead one to assume that they do.

Iran's leadership has also previously promised to wipe Israel off the face of the planet using nukes.

I don't give a crap if they don't have one yet... Israel should've proactively eliminated them a long time ago. The rationale of waiting on destabilizing state to have nukes before acting is absurd. Had this been handled long ago a lot of people in the ME would be alive today. Iran does not just seek to wipe Israel out, it's minority islamic branch is the cause of many/most conflicts in the ME (some in Africa) and has undermined peace between semitic peoples.

I watched a video last night that I've been unable to confirm.

The video indicated that both the FBI and DHS has published a list of a LOT of U.S. cities (and the state of New York in general) as being on a watch list for potential attacks.

Other than seeing the DHS website saying we "remain" [keyword: remain vs upgraded to] in a "heightened threat environment".

So, something new or not, it's wise to adopt (if you hadn't already) an increased situational awareness posture with eyes wide open, head on a swivel, constant plans for extracting yourself from dangerous environments, and having a means to protect yourself and your family.

Totally agree. Most people are too clueless to pay attention. I wish we could post videos here. There was a great AI one yesterday making fun of the protesters just doing what the news told them to do.
