We're currently in the middle of our 2nd Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack within the last 2 weeks. This is malicious activity aimed at bringing down the site and is often accomplished via spam bots on a multitude of access points into our site.

If you see noticeable degradation/sluggishness on the site and you can quickly access other web sites on other tabs, this is a good sign we're once again under attack.

Another good indicator is how many "Guests" are accessing the site. It's not uncommon for us to have upwards of 1k "Guests", but more than that could mean trouble is coming. The attached image below was captured less than 5 minutes ago; notice that we have nearly 8k "Guests" - these are malicious web bots attacking our site.

There are things that can be done to negate the effects of these attacks as they are occurring (actually, only Server Admins can take these actions).

If you see signs of a DDoS attack, please reach out to a member of the staff so we can start corrective actions before the site crashes.
