Default What is the status on the SB25-003 fight?

Or is there any fight in the works at all?
Is any organization planning to do anything about it?

The NRA is a toothless old dog. All bark, no bite.
RMGO has claimed they are getting ready to file lawsuits.
The GOP has called for a DOJ review.

But I can find nothing concrete about any real action occurring.

It doesn't go in to effect until Aug 1st 2026. I'm not sure that you can file a lawsuit before it actually goes in to effect due to the fact that damages have not yet occurred.. at least that is what I have seen the courts say about other cases. Could be wrong though.

You're not wrong. Here is how my lawyer (chatgpt) summed it up-

Law signed April 10, 2025. General effective date is September 1, 2025. The actual ban on manufacturing, selling, or buying the listed semiauto firearms doesn’t kick in until August 1, 2026. The law technically exists before then, but those specific restrictions aren’t enforceable until that date. That means you can’t really sue over that part until it’s in effect, because you’d be challenging something that isn’t operational yet.

If they argue the law’s existence is already infringing on the Second Amendment, they’re trying to get around the “not yet in effect” problem by saying the harm is happening now — for example, chilling the market, scaring off buyers and sellers, or discouraging manufacturers from doing business in Colorado.

Sometimes courts buy that argument, especially in constitutional cases, because they see it as preventing harm before it fully hits. Other times, judges tell them to come back when the enforcement date arrives.

So, come September 1st, the portion banning binary and FRT triggers is officially enforceable, with no grandfathering, correct?
