It doesn't go in to effect until Aug 1st 2026. I'm not sure that you can file a lawsuit before it actually goes in to effect due to the fact that damages have not yet occurred.. at least that is what I have seen the courts say about other cases. Could be wrong though.

You're not wrong. Here is how my lawyer (chatgpt) summed it up-

Law signed April 10, 2025. General effective date is September 1, 2025. The actual ban on manufacturing, selling, or buying the listed semiauto firearms doesn’t kick in until August 1, 2026. The law technically exists before then, but those specific restrictions aren’t enforceable until that date. That means you can’t really sue over that part until it’s in effect, because you’d be challenging something that isn’t operational yet.
