Long Shot: Looking for Cabin Rentals for Christmas near COS

For several years now I've been wanting to host my family in a cabin/cabins (with complete kitchens) up in the mountains for Christmas. There are 5 adults (2+2+1) and 2 children.

Unfortunately, it/they can't be located too far from the Springs (~ less than 2 hrs) to make getting to/from convenient for my kids. Anything more than that would be deemed excessive and they wouldn't want to do it.

Prefer a wooded location like something you'd see in an old storybook or something.

Obviously, cost is a consideration as well. $500/night just couldn't work for me.

Ideas?

Using the terms Vacation Rentals Fairplay and entering 7 guests, and cabins as the type of property.
A quick search near Fairplay for Christmas week, Dec 20 - Dec 27, found a lot available from $250 per night on up.
The town of Fairplay has a lot of wooded sites in the listings.
If Fairplay does not work for you, use VRBO search and use their Map function to find places you like.
I have been using VRBO since they started decades ago and have managed to find affordable places all over the country when I get a week to 2 months free for fun.

Look at Rye, near our old Scout Camp. Several nice properties and some really nice restaurants nearby.
